about
“Redefining Real Country” is a bold statement, but a declaration of uniqueness mixed with boundary-breaking country songs. Hailing from Lubbock, Texas, the duo of Corbin Burgett and Chloe Fowler has set out to carve their own path in the country music scene by mixing the twang of traditional country, lush harmonies, and the guitar-driven energy of rock-n-roll.
TexWestus took an accidental spoonerism and turned it into a soon-to-be household name. Their unique sound has taken the duo from humble beginnings in the hallways of the South Plains College Commercial Music building to sold-out crowds on major stages. Randall King described the band as "electric country."
Corbin grew up on 80s hair metal, so he gets a lot of his influence from bands like Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, Journey, White Snake, and Ratt. Since being introduced to country music, he has fallen in love with bands like Travis Tritt, Blake Shelton, Trace Adkins, and Jason Aldean.
His guitar influences are: Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Brent Mason, and Brad Paisley
Chloe grew up listening to 90s country and 70s rock. She is heavily influenced by artists like Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Stevie Nicks, The Eagles, and Aerosmith. She became interested in songwriting after being introduced to a 16-year old Taylor Swift.
The duo has created an art form of bringing their individual musical loves together to create their unique sound.
Their song catalog celebrates that sound - from haunting ballads, such as Gone, to the thick, swampy grooves of Can’t Slow Us Down, and tales of a ‘love em and leave em woman’ in Houston, You’ve Got a Problem. Their sound is rooted in the excitement of their high energy shows and packed with songs that create a “life-changing musical experience” for every listener. These experiences have led to a list of musical milestones - including airplay on Texas Regional Radio, winners of 95.9 The Ranch's Ranch Factor in 2019, and sharing the stages at major festivals with Gary Alan, Cody Jinks, Parker McCollum, Koe Wetzel, Shane Smith and the Saints, Roger Creager, Eli Young Band, William Clark Green, The Powell Brothers, Randy Houser, Walker Hayes, Chris Colston. Kallie Shorr, Sam Riggs, Dirty River Boys, and Josh Abbott Band.
They are sponsored by Coors Banquet and Red Dirt Hat Company.
